Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Principal and/or other designated administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides students with special needs learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Qualifications
- Holds or is eligible for Virginia teaching licensure with the appropriate endorsement (Special Education)
- Demonstrates current and accurate knowledge of subject matter addressed in the curriculum
- Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Ability to work with diverse student, parent, and school community
