Job Description
Under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) impacts students’ lives by:
+ Conduct speech and language screenings and perform hearing screenings (limited to pass/fail interpretation)
+ Working with students one-on-one or in small groups to assist with language and communication development
+ Consulting with the Director of Special Education regarding opportunities to incorporate speech and language strategies in classroom settings
+ Remaining knowledgeable of current trends and federal and state regulations in the field of speech-language pathology and special education to ensure compliance
+ Assisting in writing speech and language IEPs and progress reports to ensure students are on track to reaching their objectives
+ With permission and guidance of the supervising speech-language pathologist, SLP-As may participate in parent conferences, individual educational...
