Job Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Serves as an apprentice to a lineworker by constructing, replacing, and maintaining electric distribution lines, structures, and equipment. Actively engages in an apprentice program acquiring journeyman lineworker skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Participate in the Hoosier Energy Apprentice Training (HEATS) program. Needs to record and maintain accurate on the job training hours.
•Work on underground construction, overhead construction or service crews to the capacity allowed for the employee’s level within the training program.
•Patrols the Cooperative’s existing power lines for problems or unsafe conditions. Reports these conditions to Line Operations Manager or Safety Supervisor.
