Description
Under general supervision of Division of Laboratory Animal
Medicine (DLAM) management, the Animal care Supervisor 1 performs supervisory
duties of animal care staff members who perform operational/husbandry duties,
facility services/inspections, as well as high-level tasks related to animal
health care, the enrichment program, investigator training and services, and/or
Biosecurity. The Supervisor prioritizes and completes ongoing tasks following
established departmental guidelines, University policies, and federal, state,
& local regulations. Develops Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs), Work
Instructions (WI) and forms for the functional area; develops, delivers and
verifies employee training and assigns workloads; maintains supplies, feed and
bedding in stock; monitors room environmental conditions and any other task to
assure animal welfare and adherence to the regulations that govern the use of
these animals in research as ...
