Responsibilities
- Check, clean, and lubricate pumping equipment, chlorination equipment, and compressors.
- Under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson, adjust and repair waterworks equipment.
- Find and repair reported water leaks, as well as water mains, valves, and outlets.
- Use hand and power tools to install water meters.
- Check and lubricate gas pipeline valves on a regular basis.
- Use gas detecting devices to conduct routine surveys of gas mains and distribution lines to detect and locate escaping gas.
- Investigate gas leak reports to determine the exact location and extent of leaks.
- Excavate the ground to expose gas lines and repair damaged pipes.
