**General Summary**
Provides additional supervision of the daily operations and work activities of professional nursing and ancillary services staff on assigned unit. Oversees the successful delivery of quality patient care, service excellence and customer satisfaction. Provides direct individualized patient care at an experienced practitioner level as required.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Works with the charge nurse to ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix are maintained for all shifts through the development, preparation and maintenance of staffing schedules that meet department/unit needs and apply to variable census conditions. Makes appropriate adjustments/assignments to maximize timely patient care. Looks to staffing needs into the next matrix.
