Associate – Disputes (Construction)

The Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), Canada's leading, innovative and client‑focused law firm, is seeking an Associate – Disputes (Construction).

Responsibilities

  • Act on behalf of sureties, owners, contractors, subcontractors in disputes arising from public and private construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Advise sureties on multi‑project and large‑scale defaults and insolvencies, working collaboratively with lawyers across multiple practice areas.
  • Draft, advise and negotiate contracts for procurement and construction.
  • Advise on a broad range of construction issues such as breach of contract, breach of trust and construction liens.
  • Serve as a team member of a busy national construction group.
  • Progress in career advancement and development with numerous client‑facing responsibilities.
