Job Description

Context & Job description

Beamline ID16B at the ESRF is a state-of-the-art instrument dedicated to hard X-ray nano-analysis. It combines several advanced techniques—X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS), X-ray excited optical luminescence (XEOL and time-resolved XEOL), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and 3D/4D X-ray nano-imaging (nano-CT). Operating across a wide energy range (6 to 33 keV) with a beam size routinely reaching 50 nanometres, ID16B supports cutting-edge research in fields such as environmental science, biology, geoscience, and materials science.

Thanks to a variety of sample environments (furnaces, cryostats, electrochemical cells, etc.), the beamline offers unique in situ nano-analysis capabilities.

As a Beamline Scientist, you will be at the forefront of scientific and technical developments at ID16B. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing your own research programme, making the most of ...
