Job Description
Participate in bluebird conservation with VARC as a Nest Box Monitor in Merrit, British Columbia. Help track Mountain and Western Bluebirds by checking boxes every 10 days throughout the summer.
This role involves monitoring 15 to 20 bluebird boxes in Merrit from May to August. Volunteers are crucial for collecting data on bluebird nesting behavior, including species identification and chick development. You'll receive all necessary training and materials to assist in this meaningful conservation effort.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor 15-20 bluebird boxes every 10 days
• Report species using boxes, their eggs, or chicks
• Estimate the age of chicks in monitored nests
• Collaborate with a team of local volunteers
• Participate in training provided for volunteers

• Valid Driver's License for travel
• Own laptop with internet access and a camera
