Job Description
- Monitor patients comfort during tests, alerting physicians to abnormalities or changes in patients’ responses
- Explain testing procedures to patients to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety
- Conduct electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, stress testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, holter monitoring or other cardiovascular tests to record patients’ cardiac activity
- Check, test, and maintain cardiology equipment, making minor repairs when necessary to ensure proper operation
- Supervise or train other cardiology technologists or students
- Type and encode primary result before the cardiologist reading
- Work as a medical secretary for cardiologist
- Receive and answer phone/personal queries from patient and relative
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality prior and after the test and processed monthly reports for department performance
- Perform other tasks that may be assigned by management
