**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
As our **Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse** at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, you will play a pivotal role in the Heart & Lung Institute, the nation's sole stand-alone lung transplant center, within our Cardiac Service Line of Excellence. You will prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide exceptional care in our seven state-of-the-art CTOR surgical suites, which operate from 6:30 am to 7 pm and conduct over 1500 cases annually.
Every day you will review consent forms, address patient inquiries, conduct preoperative assessments, and ensure equipment readiness. You will keep family members informed about the surgery's progress and directly assist the surgeon during procedures. You will work within a specialized staffing ratio including two RN circulators, a cardiothoracic scrub technician, and a Physician's Assistant, supported by additional clinical and technical personnel.
