Job Description

MAJOR FUNCTION

: The Career Development Specialist is a grant funded position housed within Department of Corrections.  The Career Development Specialist (CDS) positions may cover more than one institution based on workload and proximity. The CDS services will occur through cell-front and/or in congregate settings. 

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Facilitation of employability and life skills programs.

  • Administration and interpretation of assessments.

  • Delivery of the 100-Hour Transition Skills Education program curriculum.

  • Delivery of other programs as determined by the Department, such as Thinking for a Change.

  • Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered; and

  • Facilitation of pre-release connections with community providers and employers through face-to-face and technology-based interactions to inclu...
