- Process customer purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately using a cash register or POS system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other payment methods securely.
- Provide receipts and ensure correct change is given.
- Assist customers by answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not always required).
- Experience: Prior experience in retail, cashiering, or customer service is beneficial but not always necessary.
- Skills: Strong math skills for handling cash transactions; Good communication and customer service skills; Basic computer skills for operating POS systems; Attention to detail and accuracy; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
