Job Description

Overview

Sonographer, Casual, based in New Plymouth across two sites.Join the dynamic radiology department at Taranaki Base Hospital. The role involves acute examinations, obstetric, community and vascular referrals, and occasional scanning at satellite sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high‑quality ultrasound scans on behalf of acute examinations (inpatient/ED), obstetric, community and vascular referrals.
  • Manage time efficiently and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Rotate between Taranaki Base Hospital and satellite sites such as Hawera, Stratford, and Waitara.
  • Collaborate with a team of four other sonographers and support the wider radiology staff.
  • Provide excellent patient care, communication and engagement.

Qualifications

  • NZ registration and a current annual practising certificate.
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
