Overview
***This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***
Under the supervision of the Port Engineer, the Ships Chief Engineer performs required preventive maintenance and assists Marine Repair Shops in any major repairs or overhauls. The primary vessels assigned will be the Landing Craft Utility (LCU) and the Large Tug. Supervises, operates and maintains the assigned vessel’s propulsion and auxiliary engineering systems; Determines parts, supplies, and material requirements for job accomplishment.; Supervises engineering watch members; Oversees the preventive maintenance program in conjunction with the Port Engineer and Marine Repair Shops; Accurately inputs O&M data, as well as, projects long range maintenance issues; Ensures the vessel maintains ABS Load-line and U.S. Army standards; Remains on standby/recall status to the vessel during dockside periods, as needed; Performs other duties and vessels as may be assigned..
