Job Summary:
Clinical Care: Active clinical practice by College of Medicine faculty members is the basis for the education of medical students, residents and fellows. Active clinical practice also provides a means to stay current with state-of-the-art medical treatments, procedures, medications, etc. For these reasons, faculty clinical practice programs are essential to Upstate's instructional mission and participation in these programs is a critical responsibility of members of the faculty in clinical departments. Therefore, it is an expectation that you will perform excellent clinical care in the area of Ophthalmology, including provision of primary care and consultant responsibilities from private patients and those patients being followed in the public clinics of Ophthalmology and serve as preceptor for house staff and students in caring for patients on the Ophthalmology service during assigned periods.
