This role focuses on precision machining, transforming raw materials into accurate, high-quality components using both CNC and manual lathes. The Lathe Operator interprets detailed specifications and blueprints, performs light CNC programming and machine setup, and maintains a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the production process.
**Responsibilities**
+ Review work orders, technical drawings, and blueprints using the shop computer to understand job requirements and specifications.
+ Record job hours accurately and scan badges for time tracking in accordance with shop procedures.
+ Perform light CNC programming as needed, including entering and adjusting basic machine codes.
+ Set up tooling, fixtures, and workholding on CNC and manual lathes to prepare for production runs.
