Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Turning) to join a global engineering company based in Thetford. This role is to support our weekend day shift, Thursday to Sunday (11.5-hour shifts), producing high-quality components to specification and working independently to keep production running smoothly.

The Role

As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will:

  • Set and operate CNC turning centres, including tooling selection, offsets, work holding, and safe prove-out of jobs
  • Work with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi (DMG MORI)
  • Run multi-axis turning parts to drawing and specification
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and basic GD&T
  • Use inspection equipment to complete first-off and in-process checks (e.g., verniers, micrometres, bore gauges) and record results accurately
