Job Description
Summary:
As a Staff iSeries COBOL Developer (OPM), you will design, develop, maintain, and modernize core IBM i applications that power the Company’s Car Hire product. You will work with COBOL OPM programs, CL procedures, DDS-based files, DB for i schemas, message queues, journaling, and other platform components. You will also partner with architects and API teams to modernize interactions with the IBM i, leveraging techniques such as SQL modernization, externalized REST/JSON service layers, MQ/event-driven interfaces, RPG/ILE service programs as integration points (when needed), and API‐enablement tools and data‐access refactoring. This role requires deep mastery of IBM i operational concepts, including job queues, subsystems, message handling, commitment control, and performance tuning.
