Function
A construction manager for substation and transmission line projects oversees highly specialized electrical infrastructure construction. This role requires the standard construction management skills, plus deep technical knowledge of high‑voltage systems and strict safety protocols.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Engineering review: Analyze and approve detailed engineering designs, specifications, and drawings for compliance with national codes, utility standards, and contractual requirements.
- Regulatory coordination: Liaise with regulatory bodies, utility companies, and government agencies to manage permitting and ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes (e.g., NESC, IEEE).
