About the Role
Whangārei Hospital has 8 operating theatres, and a procedure room co-located in the operating theatre suite, as well as a 2-room endoscopy suite. It provides the majority of the surgical services for Northland, including a wide range of surgical sub-specialties and all emergency surgery for the region. The case-mix is varied and challenging, with a high volume of complex planned surgery as well as a busy trauma service.
The Department of Anaesthesia is the largest department within the Surgical Service in Northland providing a 24/7 service to Whangārei Hospital as well as the planned surgery delivered at Kaitaia Hospital.
