Overview
We are looking to appoint a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join the team, based at Yeovil District Hospital in Somerset. The postholder will provide specialist diagnosis and management of gastroenterology, hepatology, and general medical patients at YDH. They will maintain ongoing responsibility for inpatient and outpatient care, respond to referrals from primary care and other specialties, and offer expert gastroenterology input for patients across the Trust. The role includes caring for acutely admitted and elective gastroenterology patients, supporting the development of nurse-led endoscopy services, and managing a wide range of conditions in outpatient clinics. The appointee will supervise and train junior doctors, contribute to teaching for nursing staff and medical students, and participate in multidisciplinary and pathology meetings.
