Job Description
To provide specialized services to patients for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the digestive tract.
Responsibilities
- Perform the professional duties of a gastroenterologist in accordance with the delineation of privileges as recommended and approved by the Credentials Committee.
- Conduct assessment and re-assessment for all patients in the OPD on admission and prior to any procedure.
- Perform duties in the G I Clinic, evaluating patients with G I diseases.
- Perform G I procedures – upper and lower G I endoscopies, liver biopsies, E R C P esophageal motility studies.
- Provide consultation referral services to the inpatient services in the area of expertise.
- Provide after working hours on call emergency coverage for G I emergencies.
- Provide supervision and education to the endoscopy staff, nurses and technicians.
