Helse Fonna HF comprises four hospitals in Haugesund, Stord, Odda and Valen, as well as four district psychiatric centres. The department serves more than 4,000 employees and covers 19 municipalities with around 180,000 inhabitants.
The Surgical Department at Stord Hospital is a dynamic and broad-based department within Helse Fonna, serving a large local population with both elective and emergency surgical services. The department combines general surgery and orthopaedics in a close, collaborative clinical environment where teamwork, flexibility and professional development are highly valued.
The department includes:
- an 18‑bed inpatient ward for general surgical and orthopaedic patients
- a surgical outpatient clinic
- a wound care outpatient clinic
- a medical team consisting of consultants and resident doctors
- intern doctors (LIS1) as part of the clinical team
