Consultant Geriatrician with Specialist Interest in Re‑ablement Medicine, based at Broadgreen Hospital.
Overview
The Department of Medicine for Older People wishes to appoint a Consultant Geriatrician. This role is part of the Department of Medicine for Older People and Stroke (DMOPS), a well‑established department delivering specialised services for older people.
Responsibilities
- Work sessionally on general geriatric wards and re‑ablement wards, delivering comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) for in‑patient care.
- Lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) based CGA care on assigned wards.
- Support two 23‑bed re‑ablement wards, collaborating with specialist MDT, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and trainees/junior doctors.
- Provide medical support and advanced discharge planning for complex patients requiring extended re‑ablement.
