Job Description
We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Ophthalmologist to join our expanding Ophthalmology department. This individual should have sound general ophthalmic training and, additionally, sub‑specialist training in Paediatrics and Strabismus.
Job Responsibilities
- Full‑time consultant comprising 10 programmed activities (PAs), each with a nominal timetable of 4 hours.
- Participate in the ROP screening rota; training is available for both screening and treatment.
- Teach, train and develop the next generation of medical professionals, and be involved in a variety of research projects.
- Support the implementation of virtual clinics, high‑volume cataract surgery and the development of extended practice roles.
- Work within the brand‑new standalone REI Ophthalmic Unit at Derriford Hospital.
