Peripatetic Cook

You will mainly be based at Marquisway Resource Centre but may work at other locations within Gateshead. In this role you will help create nutritious, high‑quality meals for adult service users with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, dementia, and those recently discharged from hospital.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals and beverages, ensuring individual preferences, choices and dietary requirements are supported in a safe, well‑equipped care environment.
• Order provisions to keep budgets within set weekly limits.
• Conduct stock control and rotation to maintain food safety standards and minimise waste.
• Carry out and record fridge, freezer and food temperatures to meet health and safety standards.
• Clean the main kitchen and equipment, and ensure adherence to food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
