Job Description
The General Cost Accountant is responsible for preparing and analyzing cost records, reports, and financial data. The role ensures accurate costing of products, monitors variances, and supports budgeting and inventory control processes to help management make informed financial decisions.
- Analyze and recordproduct costs , including materials, labor, and overhead.
- Monitorcost variances and investigate significant differences from standard or expected costs.
- Preparemonthly cost reports , profitability analyses, and inventory valuation reports.
- Maintain and updatestandard cost structures in the accounting system.
- Work closely with operations, purchasing, retail, and warehouse departments to verify actual costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
