Job Description
Protocol Education is currently recruiting teaching assistants to work in a highly developed special needs school based in Croydon. The school seeks individuals – with or without experience – to work in classes of no more than 6–8 students who have a diagnosis of autism. New hires will receive training and support throughout the role. Key attributes include initiative, patience, positivity, and the ability to work well as part of a team. The role involves supporting the class teacher and helping students achieve their individualized developmental targets through one‑to‑one support, developing communication skills, social interactions, managing sensory overload, and supporting students within the community. Students are also supported in lessons such as numeracy, literacy, music, P.E., swimming, art, food technology, and SEND‑specific lessons such as sensory play, K9 therapy, and physiotherapy.
