Job Description
Job Summary The Lead Technician, viewed as a role model by others, serves as a liaison and resource for department regarding the decontamination, cleaning, instrument assembly, packaging, sterilization, transport and storage of all patient care instrumentation and equipment. The Lead Technician will assist with direction, planning, organizing the staff, and activities of the Sterile Processing department. Ensures that best practices related to decontamination, sterilization, preparing and packaging of instruments are adhered to by staff. The Lead Technician utilizes key performance indicators to identify trending areas in need of improvement. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Assigned department manager and/or the Clinical Director Job Functions Assures the practical use of resources. Efficiently maintains instrument and processing supply inventory. Checks sterilization/decontamination equipment to make sure appropriate parameters are met.
