Cytogenetics Technologist-CytoGenetics Laboratory
The Cytogenetics Laboratory provides Fluorescent in situ Hybridization (FISH) and Chromosome analysis on inpatient and outpatient specimens received from the OSUWMC and other local and state hospitals and physicians. The CAP, TJC and CLIA certified Cytogenetic laboratory is recognized as one of the top academic centers performing highly complex testing utilizing advanced technology. It supports outreach testing programs, and educational rotations for medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty from internal and external institutions.
Position Summary: The Cytogenetic Technologist examines blood, bone marrow and tumor specimens from cancer patients for chromosomal changes using high resolution microscopes and a digital imaging system.
