McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for a Full-time Cytology Technician Specialist for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
Responsibilities include:
Receives and accessions Cytology and Histology specimens into the laboratory information system (LIS).May assist with training of new employees working in the pathology lab. Receive and prepare biological specimens for microscopic examination and/or molecular testing.Classify cellular material according to established classifications and nomenclature.Distinguish atypical cellular material for pathologist review.
