Core Responsibilities
- Managing database storage, performance tuning (indexing, execution plans), and Exadata-specific features (Smart Scans, Hybrid Columnar Compression).
- Ensuring data security, user access control at the schema level, and data encryption.
- Handling backup, recovery, patching, and high availability (Oracle RAC/Data Guard).
- Scope in your stack: They control the Exadata container/pluggable databases (CDBs/PDBs) where your APEX applications and the OAS Repository Creation Utility (RCU) schemas live.
