Zuni Pueblo is the largest of the nineteen New Mexican Pueblos, covering more than 700 square miles and has a population of over 10,000 inhabitants. Additionally, they are considered the most traditional of all New Mexico Pueblos with a unique language, culture and history which is due in part to its geographic isolation. The people and their families who have endured throughout the years here have shown their resiliency and endurance to be as strong as their building material; centuries of creating homes and buildings with adobe, sandstone, wood, cement, glass and even steel are a part of Zuni Pueblo's legacy which stand strong to this day.
