Dietetic Technician
This is a para-professional position responsible for routine technical support duties assisting the nutritionist within the Special Nutrition Program for Women, Infant and Children (WIC). Employee provides nutritional care and education services for WIC participants in a county public health department. Work is performed under the Senior Public Health Nutritionist Supervisor. Employee is expected to always communicate (by phone or in person) in a courteous and professional manner. Employee is responsible for the duties of the WIC Supervisor in her absence. Provides nutrition education for low-risk WIC participants. Provides low risk nutrition education follow-up contact for high-risk participants. Performs nutrition assessments and certifications for low-risk WIC participants. Refers high risk clients to nutritionist. Follows policies and regulations of the state WIC Program.
