Position Summary
:The EKG Technician is responsible for performing high-quality electrocardiograms (EKGs) on adult, pediatric, and infant patients throughout the hospital, including inpatient units, the Emergency Department, and outpatient settings. This role ensures accurate diagnostic testing and timely communication of results to support patient care.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and STAT EKGs on patients of all age groups in various hospital departments.
Ensure accurate patient identification and proper electrode placement for optimal test results.
Maintain cleanliness and functionality of EKG equipment and related supplies.
Accurately document and label all EKG tracings and enter data into the hospital’s electronic medical record system.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure timely
and efficient testing.
