Secondary English Teacher Key Responsibilities
LEARNING AND TEACHING- Leaders of Learning secure and sustain effective teaching of the subject, evaluate the quality and standards of students’ achievement and set targets for improvement to:
- Monitor to ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in the subject for all students including those of high ability and those with additional educational needs;
- Ensure that teachers are clear about the teaching objectives in lessons, understand the sequence of teaching and learning in the subject, and communicate this information to students;
- Provide guidance on the choice of appropriate teaching and learning methods to meet the needs of the department and of different students;
- Ensure that curriculum delivery is maintained and that meaningful work is provided for classes when colleagues are absent;
