Job Description
Permanent, full‑time position (37.5 hours per week). Flexible shift. Start date: ASAP. Union: BCGEU.
Responsibilities
- Perform weekly cleaning and maintenance of the automated specimen handling system (Autoline) and other automated equipment (Capper, Pluggo, Siemens LabCell, etc.).
- Repair any required parts and replace components as needed.
- Conduct daily checks of sodium azide system, compressor, and nitrogen tanks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Coordinate closely with external vendors when necessary.
- Receive, sort, pack, and deliver incoming specimens to testing areas.
- Enter patient information into the computer system and accession requisitions.
- Load, unload, store, retrieve, and dispose of specimens.
