Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Under the professional direction of a credentialed school nurse, the job of Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is performed for the purpose of providing specialized physical health care procedures for severely disabled and medically fragile students, assisting credentialed school nurses in managing physical health conditions of students, maintaining student health information as required by Federal/State/Local agencies; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
- Administers first aid, medication and specialized treatment under direction for the purpose of providing appropriate care for ill, medically fragile and injured children.
- Administers insulin or assists in the administration of insulin to diabetic students, including assisting with carbohydrate counting and the calculation of proper insulin dosages.
