About the job Fashion Designer (Malay Menswear)
Company Background
Our client is a China-based apparel manufacturer with a newly established subsidiary in Malaysia, committed to developing, branding, and expanding the market for traditional Malay menswear. As they grow their presence locally, they are seeking passionate and experienced Fashion Designers to be part of the pioneering team in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Development
- Create original and trend-sensitive designs for traditional Malay menswear (e.g. Baju Melayu, Sampin, Kurta), ensuring cultural authenticity and contemporary relevance.
- Research current market trends, fabrics, colors, and styles relevant to the Malay fashion scene.
2. Product & Sample Management
- Conduct sourcing and purchasing of materials and sample pieces required for design inspiration and development.
