Job Description
The Forklift Operator Operates a stand-up electric forklift to move pallets of merchandise and equipment around the warehouse. Disposes the pallets at the right place following the department's security and safety procedures.
- Completes daily forklift safety checklist and follows safety procedures. Ensures all truck wheels are chocked, reports if not. Charges forklift batteries up to battery changer.
- Ensures people keep safety distance with operating forklift. Ensures to signal position at aisle crossings.
- Transfers merchandise from the receiving area to the steel shelves and bulk wall for storage or directly to the shop floor.
- Moves pallets of merchandise from the steel shelving and the bulk wall to the sales area using stand-up electric forklift based on written list, verbal instruction and observation of low stock.
