Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Medical Sonography Technologist specialized in clinical and technical work involving the use of ultrasound to construct images of the heart and related cardiac structures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possession of a Cardiac Sonography Program Certificate and certification with Sonography Canada.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Ability to perform the duties of the position.

    • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Medical Sonography Technologist - Cardiac is responsible for: 

  • Preparing patients for cardiac ultrasound examinations
  • Preparing and operating equipment used in cardiac ultrasound examinations
  • Screening test results and preparing reports for physicians
  • Cleaning, inspecting, troubleshooting and maintaining cardiac ultrasound equipment
  • Maintaining clinical records and documentation
