Summary This position is located in the Golf Course Operations Branch of the MWR Department, Naval Submarine Base New London at Goose Run Golf Course. The purpose of this position is to provide the technical expertise to design and implement a maintenance program for the Golf Course. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a 25 acre, 9 hole course which includes greens, tees, fairways, roughs, sand traps, practice areas, picnic areas, irrigation system and related buildings and equipment. Responsibilities Major Duties and Responsibilities a. The incumbent ensures the attractiveness and constant readiness of play for the course. Regularly inspects and evaluates the condition of the course to identify daily maintenance requirements and analyzes specific problems. Incumbent determines the appropriate genus of grass to be cultivated, based on nature and condition of soil, climatic conditions, and season of the year.
