Chelmsford City Council are looking to recruit a qualified HGV Mechanic / Vehicle Technician to work as part of our Operations Services team who maintain the Council's fleet. The role is based at our vehicle workshop at Freighter House. Responsibilities include preparing vehicles for annual testing, performing routine servicing and safety inspections, and carrying out breakdown repairs in accordance with DVSA and Operator Licence requirements. The role also involves MOT testing, roadside assistance, completing detailed service records, and contributing to the safe and clean operation of the workshop environment.
