Description
Under the direction of the HIM Supervisor, the HIM Specialist II provides support to the Health Information Management department by scanning documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and routing scanned information to the appropriate provider. In addition, the HIM Specialist II will respond to requests for medical records by releasing/obtaining records when appropriate and following HIPAA and Massachusetts privacy laws. The HIM Specialist II will enter clinical data into the EMR under the guidance of the HIM Supervisor. The HIM Specialist II may also act as a representative for the HIM department at departmental meetings in the absence of the HIM Supervisor.
