Hospice Certified home health nursing aide's (CHHA) main role is to provide direct patient care in the home or setting where the patient refers to as home. Hospice Certified home health aides perform basic duties such as bathing, assistance with activities of daily living, safety and vital signs. The CHHA must demonstrate competency with all core skills as required by the Certified Nursing Assistant licensure. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Understands basic knowledge of ethical issues and is able to provide care to terminally ill patients. Provides caring holistic person-centered care. Demonstrates knowledge of basic infection control practices, such as hand washing technique. The CHHA is under supervision of the Hospice clinical coordinator/supervisor and/or director. Ability to communicate with the Hospice RN case manager for concerns that may arise in the home while performing patient care. On a daily basis communicate with th...
