Job Description
The Pathology Department is seeking an **Immunogenetics Technologist Trainee** who works under the direct supervision of a laboratory manager and/or bench supervisor. The trainee will develop skills in one or more areas in the laboratory and receive the necessary training to advance to a technologist role.
**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Develop laboratory skills in the following areas: lymphocyte isolation and purification, Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) molecular typing, DNA technologies including rSSO, RT-PCR, NGS, and TGS, flow cytometry crossmatch, Luminex-based assays, deceased donor on-call training.
+ Genotype families.
+ Prepare reagents accurately.
+ Maintain quality control of reagents and equipment.
+ Operate and troubleshoot liquid handling robotics, flow cytometers, Luminex instruments, liquid nitrogen freezers.
+ Perform computer data entry.
+ Tabulate, analyze, and report issues.
+ Perform meticulous record keeping.
