Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Imports Controller to join a dynamic airfreight team in Cape Town. This role reports directly to the Branch Manager and requires strong industry knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage the end-to-end import process.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer service functions, including preparing accurate estimates and quotations.
- Liaise with clients and agents to confirm cargo readiness, pickup dates, and flight details.
- Manage documentation: HAWB, MAWB, invoices, indemnities, and customs release.
- Track shipments, update clients daily, and ensure files are closed within required timelines.
- Approve agent invoices and ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures.
- Escalate unresolved queries within 48 hours and manage damaged cargo per SLA.
- Participate in quarterly performance discussions and uphold HR compliance standards.
