Job Description
Responsibilities
- Attend to lab request sheets handed in by the teachers
- Clear and clean all apparatus after each experiment and periodically clean up all laboratories and the chemical storeroom and microscope slides
- Check that all electrical equipment, sensors and meters are in working order and monitor maintenance requests for the laboratories
- Perform safety procedures such as checking first aid cabinets, eyewash stations etc
- Purchasing of essential items for experiments e.g. plants
- Monitor and regularly update the chemicals/stock list on the computer
- Maintain lists and contact numbers for suppliers
- Check stock and replenish empty bench reagents
- To assist where possible when a teacher is absent
- Support senior students with their practical work for Extended Essays, Internal Assessments and Group 4 projects.
