EDGE Defence is a Multi discipline New Zealand company that is building sovereign uncrewed maritime capability for the Indo‑Pacific. Our flagship platform, WHAI, is an all‑electric, jet‑powered Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV). It’s a low‑signature, highly deployable system delivering persistent ISR, force protection, target simulation and critical‑infrastructure monitoring without putting uniformed personnel at risk.
We’re looking for a Lead Autonomous Systems Engineer to take WHAI to the next level: maturing the autonomy stack, integrating new payloads and sensors, and getting the platform export‑ready for our allies and partner nations.
This is a hands‑on leadership role for an engineer who wants their work in the water, not on a shelf.
